Alcazar, Seville, Andalusia
This medieval Islamic palace is home to hundreds of intricate, elaborate carvings and tilings. These cover virtually every surface inside the palace from top to bottom. Visit the Hall of Ambassadors and be amazed by the complexity and workmanship within.
Alcazaba of Almeria, Almeria, Andalusia
Look toward the hills of Andalusia and you will see huge stone walls. Built in the 11th century, this Moorish fortress was captured by the Spanish forces during the reunification by Ferdinand and Isabella. This wonderful historic monument attracts visitors from all over the world.
Banuelo (El), Granada, Andalusia
Once a place for town meetings, these baths are considered some of the oldest in Spain. Built in the 11th Century they are still intact, many years ago they would have even been used for weddings
Banys Arabs, Girona, Catalonia
The ancient ruins of these 12th-century Arab baths are the perfect example of Romanesque civic architecture. Take a tour around the baths, marvel at the tiles and large pillars that support the elaborate ceiling. These well-preserved baths built after the Moor's occupation of Girona are well worth a look!

Castillo de Santa Barbara, Alicante, Costa Blanca, Valencian Country
Built over several centuries this historic castle and fortress overlooks the town of Alicante. Perched on the Benacantil mountain you can still look out over the wonderful Bay of Alicante.

Cathedral de Santiago, Santiago de Compostela, Galicia
This striking medieval cathedral is rumored to house the remains of St. James the Great. He was beheaded in the year 42 by Herodes Agrippa and his body was moved to Galicia by his disciples.
Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Bilbao, Basque
This huge museum is unique to Spain, American architect Frank Gehry is responsible for this architectural masterpiece, throwing light on the city with a combination of chrome and glass. The museum houses a large collection of modern and contemporary art. The building with a surface area of 24,000 square meters is more than 50 meters high and was built to be slotted into the city landscape without it towering over the neighboring buildings. The was done with modern beauty and perfect interconnecting designs.
Hospederia de Anaya, Salamanca, Castile-Leon
Palacio dates back to 1411, many locals call it 'the old one' due to its age. This ancient school of philosophy and language was almost destroyed and rebuilt with a distict Greek look. Hospederia de Anaya was home to the many students at the school and offers marvelous architecture, balconies and gratings.
Museum of St. Francis (Museu de Sao Francisco), Porto, Northern Portugal
This eiry catacomb is home to over 30000 human skulls all buried in the cellars below. There are many other curiosities within, including paintings of St Francis, several bishops and other local items of interest.

Monumento a los Corsarios, Ibiza, Balearic Islands
This Statue honours the brave pirates, who played a huge part in Ibiza's history from the eighteenth century onwards.

Old Cathedral (Catedral Vieja), Salamanca, Castile-Leon
This romanesque cathedral is a must to see when visiting Salamanca, gaze in awe at the stained glass and carved stone.
Poblet Monastery, Catalonia
This majestic monastery is considered one of the largest in Spain. The Cistercian abbey surrounds a 12th-century church. The monastery contains the pantheon of the kings of Catalonia and Aragon

Queluz Palace, Queluz, Estremadura
Frequently compared with Versailles Palace in France, this opulent palace was begun in 1747 and is surrounded by luxurious Palace gardens with Baroque fountains, statues and places for recreation.

Royal Palace (Palau Reial), Barcelona, Catalonia
This majestic palace was built in 1758 and was to used as the summer seat for the Royals. Enjoy lush gardens and luxurious interiors at this wonderful home.

Roman Amphitheater (Anfiteatro Romano), Merida, Extremadura
Visit the ancient ruins, see where the lions used to enter. Sit on the large stone steps and see the stage where many plays took place.

Seville Cathedral, Seville, Andalusia
After the destruction of an old mosque a wonderful cathedral was built. This majestic Cathedral dates back to the 15th century and claims to be the third largest building of its kind in the world. Towering above the city this splendid cathedral is amonumant to the wealth and style of its time.

St. George's Castle (Castelo de Sao Jorge), Lisbon, Estremadura
Located on Lisbon's highest hill, in the historic Alfama district, this Moorish castle dominates the city. The magestic castle housed the kings and queens of Portugal until the 16th century.
Ulysses Tower (Torre de Ulisses) , Lisbon, Estremadura
Take a look at Lisbon from a great height. This ancient tower houses a giant periscope where live images of Lisbon are reflected onto a large screen.
Valeron Monastery, Grand Canary, Canary Islands
This beautiful building once housed a sun-worshiping cult. The archeological site offers evidence of Solstice and Equinox celebrations where priestesses, the guardians of a Sun God, lived and worshiped.
