Cordoba,
once an important capital, is now home to many historical monuments,
museums and age old traditions. Although tradition is strong in
the area it is by no means quiet, this is a lively town where you
will see flameno
dancing and the often controversial bullfight!
Cordoba was
once a mighty Islamic empire, in the center of Cordoba stands a
once Great Mosque, wonderful colourful columns run
throughtout, arch stones are made of alternating red bricks and
white limestone, and are a joy to see. In 1523 there was an outcry
from town folk as it was ordered that the new cathedral was to be
built in the center of the great mosque. And so it was, the cathedral
now stands, slicing through the very walls of this wonderful building.
To the north you will find beauty in the 'La Sierra Norte' mountain
range. Throughout these mountains are small quaint villages, this
idillic lifestyle is relaxing and makes for the perfect day out.

Montoro is located
just east of the province of Cordoba, on the banks of the Guadalquivir
River. The area is known for its historic tourist interest,
city streets are narrow, white walled houses typical of Spain. Visit
the roman church, gothic castle, and there most famous landmark...a
bridge that took over 50 years to build!
The old Jewish
Quarter is an all time favourite in Cordoba...a night out
here is a night of culture, tradition, quaint taverns and tapas
bars!
