This museum is home to many exhibits including many items from the excavation at the Viladonga hillfort. They began to excavate in 1971, finds include ceramics, rings and brooches, coins and tools.

Alcazaba, Malaga
A visit to the Alcazaba museum is a must and the castles are amazing. Surrounded by greenery, at the Gibralfaro you can stroll the ramparts and enjoy the view and gardens. The Alcazaba has been declared a state monument..as it has a great historical past. Construction started in 1057 by Badis el Ziri, a taifa ruler and afterwards the malaguenian fortress of Bobastro was built on the hillside of the Gibralfaro mountain.

Acuarium de Madrid, Madrid
This wonderful Aquarium/Zoo houses more than 200 species of fish and invertebrates. Select groups swim in 35 aquariums. The route is supposed to resemble a trip by submarine - you will slowly descend on foot betwen tanks of varied sealife and artificial lagoons. Explore sea beds and dark caves on the edge of the reef.....watch out for sharks!!!

Bellver Castle (Castell de Bellver), Palma, Majorca, Balearic Islands

If you would like to visit Bellver Castle you can also visit the Provincial Museum of archeology that is now housed there.

Coach Museum (Museu Nacional dos Coches), Belem, Estremadura
Located in an 18th-century riding academy attached to the royal palace, the museum features coaches and carriages dating back to the seventeenth century.

Housed within the walls of the museum you will find an interesting collection of paintings, statures, furniture and decorative objects of the time of Cervantes, plus a collection of his works. Miguel de Cervanteswas born here in 1547 and the building restored in 1956.
Canarian Museum, Grand Canary, Canary Islands
This museum shows a permanent display, here you can learn about the early aboriginal inhabitants of the Canaries. See where they lived, what they ate and what they did to their dead. In room 6 you will find the mummified remains of a young man.

City of the Arts and Sciences (Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias), Valencia
Valencias wonderful museum features a planetarium and science area, both making extensive use of laminated glass. The globe itself looks very like an eye and houses a viewing theatre.

The Queen Sofia Museum
If you love art this huge museum is a must see! On the 3rd floor you will find a permanent collection, walking you through the evolution of Spanish art through the years. The museum also hosts paintings by Dali Ernst and Klein. Abstract art can be found five storeys up, so don't visit if you haven't got a head for heights. But what makes this museum worth while has got to be 'Guernica' the famous painting by Picasso.

Sacred Art Museum (Museu de Arte Sacra) - Madeira Islands
Housed in a former bishop's palace, the sacred art museum houses a unique collection of peices from local churches. The collection includes jewellery and statues, but is best known for its collection of amazing artworks.
The Tower of Calahorra (Torre de la Calahorra) - Cordoba, Andalusia
Built by Henry II and renovated in 1369. This fortress was once part of the old muslims cities defences . The tower is now home to a wonderful audio museum, showing life in the 10th century.
Wax Museum (Museu de Cera) - Barcelona, Catalonia
This wax works is more than just a museum, they also offer guided tours and live shows. Between the months of October and June you can also enjoy the night tour, but please be aware, you may need your pocket translator as these tours are in spanish.
Zoological Museum (Museu de Zoologia) - Barcelona, Catalonia
Converted from a restaurant in 1937, this museum has since housed zoological exhibitions since. Exhibits vary, with the majority including stuffed specimens.
